GOOGLE ADS (ADWORDS)

I worked directly for Google (in the Ann Arbor office) and was trained rigorously full time for a month, getting the highest score on the proficiency test.

I worked with thousands of accounts, some of them multi-billion dollar international companies, and some of them small local stores.

Though I obviously cannot discuss the details of any of the accounts I dealt with, the variety in accounts and experiences means that I know what works and what doesn't — no matter your scale.

 

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

Social media advertising is becoming increasingly important, but is very rarely done well. Being able to run a campaign that truly engages is difficult. I am very familiar with demographic targeting and online events and pages, and have run or helped run several (including a company and a nonprofit that operates all over the world).

 

ETHICS STATEMENT

I work strongly for what I believe in, and do business and choose clients accordingly. I recognize that this limits my financial and business opportunities, and I have no qualms with that. There are enough businesses allowing or actively working towards the destruction of the environment, of culture, and of fair wages — whether through apathy or concerted intent — and acting with abandon in regards to their impact on those and many other things. I believe in offsetting that as much as possible, by trying to work with those who are working to make a good impact on the world; at least as much as is feasible within the means of their operations. I know that creating a good impact on society while generating revenue is possible, because I have seen it many times.
