Though they often take years to edit, the finalizing parts are quite quick.

I will, of course, work out a deal with you if you need hundreds of hours edited.

Another option that is very easy to edit and can be knocked out in a matter of hours if the formula is finalized. The editing of your commercial goes a very long way towards professionalism of presentation.

These are often a dream for editors — both quick to edit and with a predetermined direction, but also with so much room for creativity and change. I really truly love getting the chance to edit these.

STYLES AND PROGRAMS

EDITING STYLE

I work to a very clear synergy of light, sound, and pacing — and admire and appreciate directors and editors who have a very clear beat to their work. Whether we're talking the style of Baz Luhrman, Edgar Wright, Julie Taymor, or the Coen Brothers, making the cut at exactly the right frame, with no tolerance for even 1/24 of a second in error or imperfection, is paramount. Comedic timing, music, drama, suspense: it all hinges on telling your story exactly the right way, and always leaving your audiences waiting with bated breath for the next shot.

 

 

PROGRAMS USED

The majority of work I do tends to be in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro X, and DaVinci Resolve 18, though other programs such as Vegas or Avid are viable if need be. Color work is done in DaVinci Resolve — the Hollywood standard — and occasionally MLRawViewer, Adobe Lightroom, and Lumetri Pro. Exporting is generally done in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Media Encoder, though Compressor can be used, if that better fits your work flow.

 

 

EXPERIENCE AND AWARDS

I have edited a number of projects that have won awards, and a number of successful music videos, advertisements, and Kickstarter pieces.

I work very quickly when with a script or clear vision, and can often have projects done in a day or two under those circumstances.
